The practice teaching is a crucial part of the whole years in schooling in education. It is the time where you are able to experience the real class scenario. It depends on how you are going to deal in every situation and act more sensibly in various ways. Practice teaching is not only measures on the way you are about to make lesson plan and teach students it is somehow your actions make into a right.
As I remember “Howes” says that teacher is not a dispenser of knowledge nor a person in charge of the educating that goes on in the classroom. The teacher’s role is one of producing the climate, providing the resources, stimulating the students to explore, investigate, and seek answers; a teacher becomes a guide and facilitator rather than a director.
We know that the teacher is a key person in the teaching-learning situation. Being a teacher must be a model to all his/her students in all aspects of life.
The off campus practice teaching as conducted last December 2015 up to February 2016. Its’ worth it! With my mentor Ms.Rechilda B. Deliña, she gave me preference to be positive towards teaching. From the firsthand experience in teaching she never tell me to feel worry about anything that may happen on the class scenario. Some of her observations are follows: the teacher students interaction is observed; the class and time is well observed; the teacher is witty and has sense of humor; the teacher starts and ends the class on time; the classroom is organized, neat and clean; students engaged in the lesson; the teacher has the ability to use varied learning methods. From these different observation and tips I pursue that I will work hard, to not break her standard. I am so much thankful for my loving mentor.
I am also thanks with my next mentor name Mrs. Toni Rose G. Billones, she teaches me to be careful of my grammar, and patiently correct it. And to all my students, they give me a experience in teaching which I will never forget. I thank Jehovah God for all of these, from the countless blessings, experiences, and am together with a good heart. Thanks for all!
