Sagrada Familia High school was established in June 1989, initially as a provincial school funded by the local government. Its name, formerly Sagrada Familia Provincial High school, represent its location base, which is Sagrada Familia in Minalabac, Camarines Sur. The opening of the Sagrada Familia High school offered a glimpse of dawn for an immediate education access of a people long used to the travails of travels. It was during the term of the Barangay Chairman Pedro J. temporal Jr. that the idea of putting up a high school in the Barangay was conceived. Through the help of then Municipal Councilor Nestor A. Villegas and Mayor Leovigildo Basmayor Jr. and his brother Larry Basmayor, the petition was elevated to the provincial government, that time with Hon. Luis R. Villafuerte as the governor. Incidentally, the governor was at the time the national chairperson of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) that was the doggedly pushing for the enactment of a local autonomy law, whose concept of Development was primarily to diffuse social services to the local level. Schools Division Superintendent Simeon F. Adan welcomed the idea in the same light, quick in his assent to the proposition.
1991, Mr. Danilo Terrobias teacher-in-charge, address first-hand it’s academic improvement need by acquiring reference books for students use.1994 Mrs. Elvira F. Bata, who would serve the position as teachers-in-charge until 2004 in 2002 ,SFHS was privileged to be one of the few recipients of 20 computer units and peripherals from the Department of Science and Technology and from Congressman Rolando Andaya, accordingly as a result of Mrs. Bata’s effective articulation of the need to put in concrete terms government’s computer literacy thrust that was turning to be so skewed to the city students to the neglect of those enrolled in barangay schools. In 2003, Mrs. Bata was reclassified in her position to Principal I. In 2005 principal ship was given to Mrs. Angelina V. Ibarreta and in 2010, she retired from the service. To plug the void, Mrs. Edna B. Ecleo was appointed as Officer-in-charge but because of health reason Mr. Renee P. Villanueva, who would take care of the school until 2011.
Under Mr. Villanueva’s term, the school became recipient of complete computers from the commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT) through the Pili- based Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA). In 2011 Sagrada Familia High school was chosen as one of the schools in the Division that were take the Regional Achievement Test. Within this year, another school building was built in the campus through the sponsorship of PODRE6 , a Spanish organization that provides fund support to the Philippine communities and the collaboration of the local government.
